JS malware warning and main server move
Posted By: Otto Yiu On: 12 Dec 2009 9:30 PM
Details A warning for those who have visited our main website on 12/11/09, and server switch that will be announced.

December 12, 2009

Dear valued customers of Rsync Palace,

Rsync Palace's main server that hosts our main website was recently hit by a JS malware, which was targeted against our Apache install. The JS malware forwarded users that had a Google referral URL, using a 302 redirect, to a fake antivirus website that pretends to scan your computer for viruses. If you had visit our site yesterday through Google and had downloaded a random file, should scan their computers for any traces of the malware. We highly suggest you change your passwords if you have been infected.

We will be moving our main website to another server, in the next 24 hours. The new server is currently being security audited to prevent this from happening again.

Another email will be sent prior to the IP change to our new server. Support and billing systems may be unavailable during the switch.

Thank you for your on-going support and understanding of this matter.

Best Regards,
Otto Yiu
